If you’re chasing a lush, leafy look with a bit of wild flair, say hello to the Calathea 'Leopardina'! With long, slender leaves adorned in soft green and spotted with darker, leopard-like markings, this stunner is the perfect blend of elegance and exotic. A proud member of the prayer plant family, its leaves gently rise and fall with the light—opening up by day and folding close at night like it’s saying a little leafy goodnight.
This vibrant beauty is perfect for adding a tropical, textural accent to your indoor space. Its upright growth habit and bushy form mean it looks fabulous on its own or styled among other foliage friends for a full-blown jungle vibe. The best part? Its leaf pattern is naturally striking, so it brings heaps of visual interest without needing blooms.
Position | Keep in a bright well-lit area or provide additional light. Avoid heaters and draughty positions. |
Temperature | Temperatures above 20c will speed up growth, between 10 and 20c growth will be slow and plants can be pruned to keep compact. This Calathea is hardy but will not survive outdoors in cold climates. |
Water | Water well if kept in pots but sparingly in terrariums, potting mix should be allowed to almost dry between waterings. Keep on the dry side in winter. |
Fertiliser | Weak dose regularly in warmer months. Only fertilise if you would like the plant to grow. Less fertiliser will keep plants shorter and more compact. |
Repotting | Only when plant is well advanced in pot or mid-spring. |
Pet Friendly | Calathea are Pet Friendly |
