Cercestis mirabilis is all contrast and texture, with elongated arrow-shaped leaves marked in silvery cream against deep green. The foliage has that sculptural, almost hand-painted look that makes this African aroid feel graphic, elegant and a little wild all at once.
It brings a refined tropical feel indoors, whether you let it stand proud as a statement foliage plant or train it upward as it matures. For collectors who love unusual aroids with strong leaf patterning and a climbing habit, this is an easy one to admire.
| Position | Bright, indirect light is best. Keep out of harsh afternoon sun, and avoid cold draughts or spots right beside heaters. |
| Temperature | Prefers warm conditions and will grow best above 18°C. Keep it above 12°C, especially through cooler months. |
| Water | Water thoroughly, then let the top part of the potting mix dry slightly before watering again. Don’t leave it sitting wet, and keep things a little drier in winter. |
| Fertiliser | Feed during the active growing season with a balanced indoor plant fertiliser at half strength. Hold off during the colder months when growth slows. |
| Repotting | Repot only when well established and actively growing, ideally in spring or summer. A loose, chunky aroid-style mix will suit it best. |
