Fern Asplenium Cobra grows as a compact rosette of glossy apple-green fronds, each one curling and rippling as it unfurls. The sculptural foliage gives this bird's nest fern a playful shape while keeping its overall look fresh and beautifully tidy.
It is an easy way to bring lush texture to a shelf, desk or humid indoor corner. Give it bright filtered light, steady warmth and a little protection from dry air, and the new fronds will continue emerging from the centre of the rosette.
| Position | Keep in bright to moderate indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun and dry, draughty positions. |
| Temperature | Prefers warm indoor conditions. Keep above 12°C and protect from heaters, air conditioners and cold draughts. |
| Water | Keep the potting mix lightly moist, allowing the surface to begin drying before watering again. Water around the potting mix rather than leaving water sitting in the centre of the rosette. |
| Fertiliser | Feed with a weak balanced fertiliser during spring and summer while new fronds are developing. |
| Repotting | Repot only once well established and filling its pot, using a loose, moisture-retentive but well-draining indoor potting mix. |
