Pumice is a volcanic rock that is very porous which allows moisture to be absorbed while also remaining very light and airy. Pumice works very well to add aeration and drainage into potting mediums or soil as an additive.

Annette Lindsay Again, can't source this here at home. So great to get it from the plant boys. Love the size for my aroid mix; the only pumice available in central Queensland is miniscule sand (fungus gnat barrier) only suitable for tiny plant babies. Prompt delivery, great packaging and awesome product.
