Zanzibar Akebono is a glowing twist on the classic ZZ, with upright stems and luminous new foliage in shades of buttery yellow, chartreuse and fresh green. The veining gives each leaflet an almost stained-glass look, making this plant feel sculptural, polished and quietly dramatic all at once. Akebono is a variegated form of Zamioculcas zamiifolia, with new growth often emerging pale yellow or cream before deepening over time.

A beautiful choice for collectors and for anyone who loves low-fuss plants with a little extra personality, this one brings brightness without asking for much in return. It keeps the easy-going nature ZZ plants are loved for, but with colour that makes every new stem feel special.

Position Keep out of direct sun. Plant can tolerate low light conditions.
Temperature They will not grow outdoors in colder climates; they must be kept in warmer areas indoors.
Water Do not over water this plant. Water only when dried out around once per month.
Fertiliser Zanzibar do not require much feeding as they are slow growing.
Repotting Zanzibar can be repotted when pot bound but can be left many years in the same pots, however growth will slow.
